I’m not sure if you know, but I used to blog as Not Your Average Teen. That’s where I got my blogging start. That’s where I first fell in love with some AMAZING bloggers like Ruby at Growing Up Blackxican and Andrea at Good Girl Gone Redneck. That’s where we used to have blogging dance offs. That’s where I hosted an blog party that was 100 times more successful that I thought it would be… and I let it all go when I graduated from high school because I didn’t feel like the “teen” everyone wanted to follow and read about anymore. But, I want to bring all of that back! Old school blogging… I miss it.
In 2015, I want to make this blog compare to what I had back as NYAT. I want to find my tribe and connect and support them! I want to bring my blog back to life. I want to make my blog personal again. And I want YOU to be a part of that. I’m so excited!
Today, I’m sharing my 2015 Blogging Goals with you.
When I was blogging as NYAT, I would post at least 3 times a week. This blog, I posted maybe 5 times a month in 2014 (with the exception of the last few months where I was trying to blog everyday). I have a plan in action right now to simply blog more and I’m ecstatic!
Support Other Bloggers
One thing I used to do is comment on as many blogs as I could… nice, genuine comments. I loved it! I enjoyed leaving comments for my favorite bloggers along with new bloggers I had found and I want to feel that again. In 2015, I’ve made a plan to comment on at least 10 blogs a day (and promote their content)! The secret is in the sauce after all. I also want to make sure I respond to comments on my posts.
Have you met Kat? If not, check her out. She’s the reason I’m so inspired to start vlogging in 2015. I will make it happen. I will!
I want a new, custom blog design that is user-friendly and truly represents who I am. I have two amazing designers in mind (April & Rekita), but we’ll see when I will make it happen. It may be a while, but it’s a HUGE goal of mine.
Here’s some other blogging goals I plan to accomplish in 2015:
- Create more evergreen content.
- Engage more on my social media accounts.
- Start doing book reviews.
- Create a link up that allows for bloggers to celebrate each other!
- Participate more in The SITS Girls forum to help others.
- Get more organized when it comes to the blog (like cleaning up tags & categories).
And my biggest blog goal for 2015…
I will not live to blog, I will blog while living!
Life happens! It just does and sometimes it causes chaos. If I feel like my blog is stressing me out, I will take a step back. If I fail at any of these goals, I won’t let myself get down about it.
