Crafting is my getaway and since March was miserable for us, I had LOTS of fun making a homemade Easter basket for my baby brother’s spring celebration at school. It was a great stress reliever even if I did burn the same finger multiple times.
Here’s all that you need to create this adorable bunny basket:
- Milk Gallon
- Cotton Balls
- Pink & White Felt
- Black Pipe Cleaners
- Googly Eyes
- Permanent Marker
- Hot Glue Gun
To make the ears, I cut the shape from the white felt and then cut a smaller shape from the pink. I then used the hot glue gun to glue them together. I also cut a cute little heart shaped nose from the pink felt.
From there, I cut off the top of the milk gallon and cleaned out the inside.
I then glued the ears to the back where the handle is.
The hard part is also the fun part. The next step is gluing on all the cotton balls. I lined them up on the table and then glued them onto the milk gallon. It’s time consuming, but worth it. I covered as much of the plastic as I could.
The last step is putting on the bunny’s face. Use the googly eyes, heart nose and cut your pipe cleaner to make whiskers. I also used a cotton ball cut in half to make the mouth.
And you’re finished!
My baby brother loved it and was so excited to show it off to his teacher. I was actually surprised by how adorable it turned out… like I said, it was totally worth it!
I hope you have a happy Easter!
