At my little brother’s preschool they celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week and each day there is a theme for a gift to bring to your teacher. I like the idea! It makes it fun and I think it’s so great to take the time and thank their teachers.
One of the days this week was “bring your teacher a flower.” I wanted to go the homemade route and found these adorable blooms made from cupcake wrappers on Pinterest. I just had to make them! I put my own twist, of course.
All I had on hand was plain white cupcake liners so I colored them red and green with permanent markers.
From there, it’s simple. Wrap the pencil in washi tape (I used a gold roll since I didn’t have brown). Then you fold the cupcake liners and cut a half circle at the top of the red ones and cut the green one to end up in the shape of a leaf. Layer the cupcake liners on top of the eraser and then press a push pin into the eraser to hold the cupcake liners in place.
I love the way they turned out. Don’t forget to thank a teacher this week!
