Women entrepreneurs are amazing. They’re great! They take girls under their wing and lead them into a world of a thousand possibilities.
Snezna Kerekovic took me under her wing in 2011 and I instantly knew I wanted to grow up and be a #girlboss. Okay, I think I knew beforehand, but when I started working under Snez it was confirmed. I was so ready! My world instantly transformed into a world of working hard, taking risks, and chasing my dreams.
Over the years, I’ve worked for and with several women entrepreneurs on various large & small projects:
- Monique Coleman of Disney’s High School Musical
- Katie of Vintage Rose Wraps
- Michelle of Macaroni Kid West St Louis – Bridgeton
- Tammy of She’s the First
… and so many others. All of these women are still huge inspirations to me. They’re amazing role models and overall incredible people! And now, I continue to live out my dreams with Ponn and Heidi of The Blogger Babes as mentors.
See, here’s the thing… we live in this world where females are pitted against each other. We’re told we can’t. We’re told we’re not good enough, not strong enough, not passionate enough. But I find that all untrue. Women are passionate. We are strong and WE CAN!
I currently run my own business and get to live a #BloggerBabesLife as a female blogger. I get to help my mom raise my siblings and get to work from home. I get to help my littlest brother learn to read and I get to watch my little brother and sister participate in sporting events. All because there are women out there who believe in empowering and supporting each other!
And trust me, it’s hard. There are days I want to throw in the towel and just be done with it, but I know that there are others out there who are rooting me on and they keep me going. I still look back a this tweet from Monique that she posted in 2012.
That’s why #WomenWOW is so important, because it’s all about encouraging others to invest in and shop at women-owned businesses. WOW stands for Women on Wednesday and was designated by the founder of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, Wendy Diamond. This year’s Women’s Wednesday is on Decemeber 2nd.
That day, I plan to visit and comment on as many female ran blogs as I can to show my support. I’ll be purchasing some of my favorite headbands from VRW. And I’ll be making a donation to She’s the First to help girls who are less fortunate get an education.
How will you use your girl power on #WomenWOW? Let’s empower women together!
Don’t forget to check out the challenge that Blogger Babes is running… you can get the chance to win a $100 investment from Ponn herself + Blogger Babe learning materials.
