Halloween is right around the corner and carving pumpkins are a tradition I started with my youngest brother. It’s something I never did as a kid, so I made sure it was an activity I did with him. He’s a HUGE fan of Disney Junior and recently has fallen in love with episodes of Doc McStuffins: Toy Hospital.
This year, we decided to carve a Stuffy pumpkin. He’s one of his favorite characters.
These are the supplies we used:
- Pumpkin Carving Kit
- Sharpie Marker
- Pumpkin Light
- Stuffy Pumpkin Stencil from Disney Junior
Start by carving a circle in the bottom of the pumpkin and then scoop out all of the pumpkin guts. This was my little brother’s favorite part.
Then cut out the stencil and tape it to the pumpkin, fold where needed so it’s flat on the pumpkin.
From there, trace the outline with a Sharpie marker. Make sure to use lots of pressure so the design ends up on the pumpkin.
Then it’s time to start carving. Since the design is so detailed, slow and steady wins the race!
While I was carving, my brother was giving Lambie a check up with his Doc McStuffins Doctor Bag Set.
He diagnosed her with broken leg-itis and according to him, she was very sad. Thankfully by the time I finished carving the pumpkin, she was healed! You’ve got to love kiddos with BIG imaginations.
Here’s how our pumpkin came out:
Then we added the strobe light inside and turned out the lights.
He absolutely LOVED it! And so did I. Now it’s sitting on our front porch greeting our visitors.
After pumpkin carving, we sat down and watched Doc McStuffins: Toy Hospital.
Join Doc as she expands her practice from the backyard clinic to the magical new world of McStuffinsville, where she will carry on a family tradition by becoming Chief Resident of McStuffins Toy Hospital. After Grandma McStuffins shares the news that she too has the ability to bring toys to life, she transports Doc and her friends to McStuffinsville, a magical world made up entirely of toys. There, Doc appoints Lambie in charge of the toy nursery, Stuffy on vet duty, Chilly as receptionist and Hallie as head nurse.
Also featured are four episodes highlighting the McStuffins’ family experience as they encounter the joys of adoption after Mom and Dad McStuffins announce that they are adopting a baby. Storylines focus on a variety of emotions and situations young children can encounter when a new baby arrives in the family.
