I moved into a new Erin Condren Life Planner on Monday and it was exciting! I tend to use the academic year (July – June) so that it aligns with my siblings’ school year. This allows for the semi-unstructured fun of summer to be at the beginning of the planner, making it even better to move into. 😉
Here are five other reasons that I love moving into a new planner, especially a new ECLP.
A Fresh Start
There are some days where you just feel out of control. Lost, maybe. Like you don’t know where to go or what to do anymore. I’ve had that feeling often, especially in the last year. But a new planner is a fresh start for me. A new planner means I can start with something new and plan meaningful, productive days.
I always use the sidebar box to put a quote to inspire me for the week. The one I picked for the first quote of my new planner seemed pretty fitting.
To go with the idea of a fresh start, a new planner gives you a chance to sit down and organize yourself for a new year. Again, I start my “new year” in July, but this works if you wait to start your year in January, too.
With a new planner in hand, it makes it easy for me to forget what didn’t happen the year before and get to work on making things happen now. Focusing on the future and not the past.
What goes well with a new planner? New accessories, of course! This year, Erin Condren released some new products that I couldn’t wait to use. The new pastel dual-tip markers have stolen my heart! Also, look at all the painted petals!
A Chance to Stick to Your Own Style
Sometimes the biggest struggle for me has been finding my planning style. There are so many planner girls out there who inspire me, but it’s easy to get caught up wanting to do what they do only for you to realize that it doesn’t actually work for you. With a new planner, you can start with what works for you and then stick to it for an entire year.
I mentioned above that I was excited about making meaningful, productive plans. A new planner gives me the motivation to get things done. For example, check out the first day in my new planner.
Everything I planned got done… well, almost… I didn’t have a chance to clean the downstairs but that’s because everything else did get done. I’ll take a productive day where I have to shift some things over being unproductive any day.
With this new planner, I hope to plan out only what I know I can get done and then actually get them done. Things getting checked off is the main goal!
And that’s why I love moving into a new planner. It’s so much FUN!
